Tim Fischer AC - Luncheon 21 April 2015

Bob Charley AO Tripe Club Victoria

Our Autumn Luncheon was one of our largest yet, and no surprise given the calibre of our guest and the relevancy of his speech in the lead up to ANZAC Day...

The former deputy prime minister of Australia and former Australian Army officer spoke about the release of his new book, Maestro John Monash: Australia's Greatest Citizen General. Fischer discussed why he believes that John Monash, the legendary Australian military commander during the First World War, deserves more recognition.

Copies of Mr Fischer's Maestro John Monash can be purchased through Monash University Publishing by clicking here.

The Tripe Club of Victoria were proud to make a presentation of $500 to the Sir John Monash Foundation and $250 to the Shrine of Remembrance from the proceeds of April's luncheon. You can read more about the work of the Foundation HERE & see what the Shrine is doing in Melbourne HERE.

The St Kilda Memorial Hall Trustees also took the opportunity to present $5,000 to Denis Baguley, CEO of the Shrine of Remembrance - the seeding donation of a $50,000 endowment over the next ten years.
